Filly & Mare Sprint Preview

This race was expected as one of the stronger editions of this unique 7-furlong contest for female horses. However, veterinary inspections resulted in several scratches this morning, such as top contenders Sweet Azteca and Tamara.

Consequently, the lineup looks significantly reduced, but trainer Bob Baffert has a major opportunity to claim his 20th Breeders’ Cup win. His entrants include Richi along with Splendora, whereas Hope Road, winner of the Grade One Ballerina Stakes, is considered the main challenger.
