Brooklyn Earick Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Takeover Bid Following Expression of Interest
The former chairman managed Tottenham's move to the club's new home in recent years.
Innovative business leader the entrepreneur has ruled out launching a buyout proposal for Tottenham.
Tottenham had before “clearly turned down” an informal expression of interest from a consortium led by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the club was not for sale.
Yet British acquisition regulations required that, following an informal proposal turned down, the interested parties had to submit a bid by late October or announce they would not proceed.
Confirmation of the determination was made in a release issued by Tottenham to the stock exchange, confirming the team is “not in an acquisition window.”
The entrepreneur posted an snapshot of the statement on social media, adding: “I've had a pleasure discussing with the club and the Lewis family's agents over the past few weeks.
“I hold high regard for the club, its executives, and its followers, and hope for continued achievements.”
The club's board thanked the consortium for its “positive engagement” in discussions and for “honoring the clear position” of the shareholders that the organization is off the market.
The entrepreneur is a one-time music presenter who also served in space technology for the space agency before establishing Redacted RnD, which concentrates on tech, communications, athletics and leisure.
The informal offer was the third approach rejected by the organization's leadership since the unexpected exit of top executive Daniel Levy in September.
In early fall, the organization turned down offers from previous club stakeholder Staveley's PCP International and a syndicate headed by Kennedy and the co-investor through the holding company.
Levy and his relatives own about 30% of the parent company – which has an nearly 87 percent interest in Tottenham.
He was the the league's most enduring chair and is believed to have received more than £50m during his long tenure in the capacity.
But he was also the focus of ongoing dissent by Spurs fans, especially last term as home competition outcomes proved unsatisfactory.
Tottenham secured their initial silverware in 17 years when they beat United in last season's continental decider.
