Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A chopper flying above a popular southern California beach suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos uploaded online depict the helicopter starting to spin over the beach then plunging towards the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were taken to hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the street were injured. Information on their wounds were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.

Officials indicated the chopper was linked to an annual “Cars and Copters” charity gathering scheduled for Sunday.
